Simeon Jackson, who learned his soccer growing up in Mississauga, scored a dramatic late-match goal Saturday at London’s famed Wembley Stadium as Gillingham beat Shrewsbury 1-0. With the win, Jackson’s club earned a promotion back to League One, just two rungs below the Premier League. Jackson, Gillingham’s top scorer, got free at the back post to head home a corner for his 21st goal of the season. The match appeared to be heading for extra time before Jackson’s 90th-minute goal.The game, played before more than 50,000 spectators, wrapped up the League Two championship for the Kent club.Jackson, 22, was born in Kingston, Jamaica, but grew up in Mississauga.
